Many of us are scrambling to transition from face-to-face classroom settings to various forms of distance learning in a very short amount of time. While some of us may be “old hats” at whatever LMS our districts have adopted (if they have adopted one), this is not the case for everyone.
In my district, we have been tasked with connecting with parents and students, but many of our communication tools do not offer an option for sending a mass email to an entire class. Canvas, which is the LMS we use, does…but it’s not exactly intuitive–you kinda have to dig a bit. Many of my colleagues were unsure how to do it, or if it was even an option.
So, I quickly assembled a step-by-step guide that walks the user through the process. It’s not pretty, but many of my colleagues have found it helpful, so I wanted to share it here for others that might as well: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dlMCXNPmm04AaBvHT_y5sofDWQXOgbog/view?usp=sharing
And I would encourage anyone who might have any resources or materials that would aid other teachers to share them freely. This is a tough time for all of us, so let’s be kind to one another and share the load. #teachershelpingteachers
